Pictures will never do it justice, at least not the kind of pictures I take. So, please take my word for it when I say, today was mind blowing. 35-45 foot swells on the North Shore of Oahu. We caught the view from a few different vantage points, off both the western and eastern side of the northern part of the island. It required a bunch of driving, in ridiculous traffic... but with Dole Whip to sustain us and the promise of epic waves to entice us we persevered.
The end result of our wave quest was humbling, to say the least. Nothing like watching 40 foot waves crash a mere 40 feet away from you, to put the delicate balance of humanity vs. nature into perspective.
Amazing views, amazing waves, amazing company made for some amazing memories. So glad to have been able to share it with people I love. All we were missing was Cutter, but I guess someone needs to actually work. We did miss him though. :(
