Middle Duck Turns 4

Well, my little man turned four.  How four years passed by so so so quickly is beyond me.  It seems that just yesterday I had a 9 pound 15 ounce bald headed, bundle of joy.  Now he is big.  And I couldn't love him more.

The Caterpillar cake I stayed up really late to create.  He loved it.
The birthday boy sitting on his new "dog bed" birthday present from mom and dad  With his Sea Plane from Grandma and Grandpa.  Holding his stretch-y caterpillars.
Playing play dough with the huge pack from Grandma and Grandpa.
All snuggled up with his new stuffed caterpillar from Auntie Julie.  The caterpillar birthday banner and card in the background was hand crafted by Auntie Jayme.  Uncle Jo's  hilarious card is also in the right hand corner.
On the way to the pool, we stopped for some ice cream to celebrate Hud's birthday and Hayden's first "purple" day at school.  Big day for the Honeycutt boys!
Pool time fun with Hudson's new toys.
Baby girl, doing the "happy baby" poolside.
Enjoying brothers caterpillar cupcake.
Neighbors came over to help Hud blow out candles.  I love that we can invite just one family over and it feels like a party!  Four kids is perfection!  They gave Hud a really great pirate set.  He loved it, of course!
Happy birthday Hudson!
Say "cheese"!

Dear Hudson, Happy 4th birthday. You are now four fingers old, which is lucky for you because showing four fingers is much easier than holding up three and I know that makes you happy. You are our blessing. You make Team Honeycutt a more joyful, spirited and adventurous place to belong. You love with passion and determination. You see the world with the eyes of a detective and leave (quite literally) no rock un-turned. You have an excitement for creating that extends far beyond paint and makers. No leaf, grass, pencil shaving or mushroom is off limits when it comes to your "art." You are mommies big-little helper, Daddy's little man, Hayden's best friend, and Hadley, well she is still growing on you. We will just give that one time. You melt my heart on a daily basis... and on a whim can break it again. But that is what passionate people like you will learn to control over time. Your vision is big and your passion is powerful, which means you can build up just as easily as you tear down. But, that will come in time too. For right now, we are going to focus on having fun, learning your letters, overturning rocks, floating on your back, digging in mud, finding a real-live caterpillar, gluing as much as we possibly can to paper and using only gentle hands on the dogs... 4 is going to be awesome. It is going to be full of adventure. Of that you will ensure.
We love you Sugar Plum!
