This is the lunch that brought me to uncontrollable tears last night as I packed it:
But then as I labeled 100 crayons with Hayden's name my mommy angst slowly gave way to annoyance. Can't the kids just SHARE all these crayons?!
This morning we were up with the birds and getting ready for Mr. Magoo's first day!!! He chose to wear his sweet new Batman shirt. He looked proud and rad. He was excited.
And I didn't even have time to tear up at the school because I was too busy breaking up Hayden and Hudson's brawl right out in front of his classroom with all the mom's (and my potential friend pool) watching. Talk about first impressions. But hey, it DID distract me from any sorrow I may have let seep out.
When we went to pick him he was all smiles. He said he met some new friends and his best part was "playing tag with my new friends."
And now he wants me to call him my "Big School Boy." No joke.
Just like that I am a Kindergarten Momma.
By the way... homeschool-ish preschool also began. We started with the letter "A." We pretended to be Alligators, to fly on an Airplane and picked imaginary Apples from an imaginary Apple tree. We apple stamped, sang the alphabet song, traced the letter "A" with our fingers and per Hudson's request baked Apple cupcakes to celebrate the start of the school year.
Whew. Is it summer yet? I need a break! :)
