Reality

I could do a week in review post today, but that would mean writing about grandma leaving and I don't want to do that.  Grandma left on the 4th of July and I will just say that we are all trying to recover from the loss.
Today was a big day for Team Honeycutt.  Hayden had his first day of VBS Sports Camp.  The theme this year is Off the Bench.   And the verse comes from 1 Peter 3:15: "Always be ready to give a reason for the hope that you have."  He was nervous going in, but he seemed resolved.  And with a spirit of determination, he just walked right in and sat right down.  It is hard to watch your children walk into an environment that is foreign and try to fit in.  It is hard because I remember how lonely it can feel.  But Hayden is a champ.  I am very proud of him.  He reported that it was a fun day and that he is excited to go back tomorrow.
Hudson had his first swimming lesson!  He is a little fish!!!  I almost kept him home due to his very icky nose issue going on... he convinced me otherwise.  :) Despite his cold and his short nap he did really well.  The instructor called his name and right on up he walked.  Not nervous in the least.  He did make sure to wave at me and call, "hi mom!" from in the water.  He will be doing 8 total lessons in the next two weeks.  After he is done, then Hayden will have his turn at swimming lessons.
Hud with his swim class.

Poor Hadley had her first experience as a chauffeur  spending much of the day in a car seat running her brothers all over town.  By her fifth and sixth time in the car seat she was done and screamed the entire time.  It is a good thing the pool is only 6 minutes away.  We do the exact same thing tomorrow, so hopefully she will be a bit more used to it.

With all the action today, the boys still found energy
to jump with neighbor Ethan after dinner.

Other than my children's "firsts" today, I had a couple other highlight moments.  Hudson and I happened to be at the computer when Uncle Jo Skyped us.  We got to chat with him for awhile. Through the power of the internet, Uncle Jo got to witness a candid Hudson moment when he decided to try and eat a Spicy Cheeto.  I feel blessed that I am living in an age where I can be so far away from home and yet have my family still be a part of an every day memory like that.  Thanks Uncle Jo for calling!
I got another good chuckle today when I stepped out of the house (and away from Facebook) for a half hour to drop Hayden off at VBS.  When I came back later I had 72 new notifications on Facebook.  I was shocked.  What had happened in the 30 minutes I was gone?!  ...Auntie Jayme looked through the new pictures I had posted and and "liked" all 72 of them!!!  TOO FUNNY.  Her sweet comments on the photos made me cry.  I am blessed beyond belief to have a sis in law like her!!
We are all still really missing grandma.  Hudson asked her today to come back and Hayden still has not erased the message she left him on his Magnadoodle.  He sleeps with it every nap.  As much as we loved having her here, we needed to get back to reality.  And reality has arrived.  My life as a mom of three babies has officially begun.  A life of rushed breakfasts and running kids around town has begun.  This week, in all its flurry of activity will be good practice for the upcoming school year.
I am off to bed now.  Very tired from all of the action.  XOXO.
