Recovery Run

Renae and I have logged a lot of running miles together in the past nine months.  But today we had a running first.  We put Hudson and her son Ethan in my double jog stroller and pushed them along.  These boys aren't babies, these are "very heavy" four year olds, to quote Ethan.
I tend to not enjoy running with a jog stroller, mostly because running time is my grown-up time, and kids are not grownups.  This was different though.  This was silly, and rainy, and filled with puddles to splash through.  This wasn't a run, it was quality time with a friend and our kids.  It was a play date on wheels that combined three of my favorite things:  running, talking with a loved one and listening to my boy laugh with his pal.
At the risk of sounding incredibly corny, it wasn't just a three mile recovery for my legs... it was a bit of a half-hour recovery for my soul.
